Customer Comments: Looking for quote & options on doors for attached. Prefer brass or bronze type frame.
Our Comments: We can have doors made in a brass or bronze finish from several different of materials as described and illustrated below.
Tempered vs Ceramic Glass: Tempered glass can handle sustained temperatures up to about 450F without breaking from heat. Ceramic glass can handle temperatures up to about 1450F. If you wish to burn fires with the doors closed, we recommend steel doors with a powder coat finish and ceramic glass. Solid brass doors must only be burned with the doors open.
Fireplace Opening: 47" W x 33 1/2" H (Center) x 26" H (Sides)
Doors made from powder coated steel can be burned with the doors closed when purchased with ceramic glass. The frames are seamlessly laser cut from solid steel.
These doors are also laser cut from solid steel, but then have a plated steel sheet metal overlay with seams. They can be made with ceramic glass, but we do not recommend building hot fires with the doors closed as it will most likely discolor the finish of the plated overlay.
These doors are laser cut from solid steel and then brass plated for a rich durable seamless finish. They can be made with ceramic glass, but we do not recommend building hot fires with the doors closed as it will most likely discolor the plated finish.
These doors are hand crafted by skilled craftsman at Stone Manufacturing using 100% virgin solid brass with mitered silver saudered corners or a seamless appearance. These can be made in a variety of brass patina finishes and embelished using the solid brass casting trims shown further below. These are very high end doors made with real finishes. They cannot be made with ceramic glass and must be burned with the doors open to preserve the solid brass finish.
Use your imagination to create the perfect fireplace screen with these solid brass castings from Stone Manufacturing. Compliment architectural details in the mantel or other furnishings in our home, or simply create your own unique look. Available in a wide variety of finishes.
If you are planning on burning anything in your fireplace, you need to have mesh behind the glass so you can burn a fire with the doors open. You can chooe between gate mesh backup doors and sliding mesh curtains. Functionally, gate mesh performs the best as the wire has smaller holes that sparks cannot get through. Aesthetically, mesh curtains may be preferred because they do not have a vertical center frame that obstructs the view of the fire. When you are not using the fire or you want a complete unobstructed view, they do not stick out like gate mesh doors when they are opened.
We are showing these options on a flat steel bifold door with a satin brass overlay and gray glass.
