Our Comments: Not sure if you wanted glass doors with a screen, or just screen doors, so I created some mockups of both.

Tempered vs Ceramic Glass: Tempered glass can handle sustained temperatures up to about 450F without breaking from heat. Ceramic glass can handle temperatures up to about 1450F. If you wish to burn fires with the doors closed, we highly recommend upgrading to ceramic glass.

Steel doors are more substantial than the less expensive aluminum doors. They are heavy duty and rugged and are more customizable because the frames are laser cut.

How To Make A Template

Template Instructions:

• Tape a piece of heavy plastic sheeting or mylar to the fireplace
• Make sure the bottom edge is perfectly straight and flush with the hearth
• Make sure the plastic is pulled relative tight so it is not wrinkled or distorted
• Trace the stones around the opening using a fine tip black marker
• If you make a mistake, make a note indicating what part of the line to use
• Mark each template as shown above
• Take a picture of the template and email it to me. Do not remove the templates until I have seen the pictures and approved them.

Glass Door Mesh Options

If you are planning on burning anything in your fireplace, you need to have mesh behind the glass so you can burn a fire with the doors open. You can chooe between gate mesh backup doors and sliding mesh curtains. Functionally, gate mesh performs the best as the wire has smaller holes that sparks cannot get through. Aesthetically, mesh curtains may be preferred because they do not have a vertical center frame that obstructs the view of the fire. When you are not using the fire or you want a complete unobstructed view, they do not stick out like gate mesh doors when they are opened.

We are showing these options on a flat steel bifold door with a satin brass overlay and gray glass.

Picture #2: With your back to the fireplace, take a picture looking straight out into the room so we can see the decor directly in front of the fireplace.

Please remove all objects from in front of the fireplace opening before you take your pictures (existing screen, plants or anything else). If you have an existing glass door, take pictures with the doors open and closed.

1. Take 2 Pictures: Remove items in front of the fireplace including an existing screen, plants or anything else
2. Measurements: Width and height of the opening
3. Comments: Tell us what you want: Glass Doors, Screen, Gas Logs, Etc
4. Hi-Resolution: Send images in their original file size.
5. Phone Number: Recommended but not required

How Does The Process Work?

Once I recieve your pictures, I will create several mockups and post them to a project page and send you a link to view and them with others for their input. I will follow up with you to discus your project, quote prices and help you choose the treatment that suits you best.
