Customer Comments: The fireplace opening with screens is a ESA model B36L. I've never had glass doors to conserve heat so I'm looking for a magnetic folding glass door solution
Our Comments: Magnet mounted doors are designed to cover the entire black metal fireplace, including the louvers. Your Desa fireplace appears to have a fan on/off switch on the bottom betwee the right and center louvers. This complicates issues for magnet mount doors. You will have 4 choices:
I have created mockups illustrating each of these options.
Fireplace Opening: Not Provided
These doors are designed to fit inside the opening and are easily attached with pressure screws that require no drilling.
These doors attach with magnets and have fixed louvers that will cover the on/off switch. The only way to access the switch will be to detach the entire fireplace door frame by pulling it away and disconnecting the magnets.
These doors attach with magnets and have laser cut frames and louvers with a slot cut out for the switch. Accurate measurements are required for the switch location. We will allow 1/2" around the switch to ensure it will fit.
These doors attach with magnets and have special removable louvers that will allow access the fan switch without having to remove the door.
If you are planning on burning anything in your fireplace, you need to have mesh behind the glass so you can burn a fire with the doors open. You can chooe between gate mesh backup doors and sliding mesh curtains. Functionally, gate mesh performs the best as the wire has smaller holes that sparks cannot get through. Aesthetically, mesh curtains may be preferred because they do not have a vertical center frame that obstructs the view of the fire. When you are not using the fire or you want a complete unobstructed view, they do not stick out like gate mesh doors when they are opened.
We are showing these options on a flat steel bifold door with a satin brass overlay and gray glass.
