Replacement Mesh Curtains and Header for Fireplace Remodel - Project #21148

Customer Comments: I’m looking to replace the hanging mesh curtain screen and support rod/bar for an existing built-in fireplace. I’m attaching photos of the current setup for reference. I would like the rod/support bar to be as thin and low-profile as possible, ideally finished to blend with the white-painted side block walls. For the mesh screen itself, I think a warmer antique bronze tone could work nicely (the existing one is very old and rusted). I’m very open to suggestions on how to best bring this fireplace back to life while keeping the overall aesthetic clean and architectural. Please let me know if this is something your team can help design and fabricate, and if there are any additional measurements or details you need from me.

Our Comments: Here are mockups of the options we discussed over the phone showing the 1 3/4" header bar and the closet mount curtain rod style.

Stone Manufacturing Mesh Curtains

Mesh curtains are a very traditional fireplace treatment that is both functional and convenient to use. These are made by Stone Manufacturing and feature high quality graphite coated curtain rods that always open and close smoothly. The mesh curtains are heavy duty with stiffener rods in the center to help the mesh hang straight and prevent the ends from curling. Adding a bottom bar creates a more finished look, hides the uneven gap between the mesh and the hearth, and helps prevent ashes and logs from rolling out of the fireplace. Their mesh curtains are only avaialable in Black, Stainless Steel or Solid Brass.
