Customer Comments: Our opening is slightly less than 30" by 30". If affordable, we are probably inclined to get a screen with doors attached to the fireplace frame.

Our Comments: I see you have the Ahren-Fire Fireplace System installed. This is a beautiful application. Below are screen doors made from various materials and price ranges that can be custom made to fit the opening.

Free Standing Screen Door

Free standing screens are the least expensive alternative in case the other options are beyond the budget. This screen is made from 3/16" solid steel and can be attached to the fireplace with clamps at the top.

Affordable Aluminum Doors

Aluminum is an excellent material for fireplace doors because it does not rust and can handle relatively high temperatures when treated with powder coated finishes. It is not as heavy duty and rugged as steel or wrought iron, but it is the most affordable.

Medium Duty Formed Steel

Formed steel is made from heavy gauge sheet metal that is formed to create a hollow frame that is 3/4" deep. These are slightly sturdier than the aluminum doors, but not as heavy duty as solid steel.

Steel doors are more substantial than the less expensive aluminum doors. They are heavy duty and rugged and are more customizable because the frames are laser cut.
