Glass Doors for Full Arched Fireplace - Project #21367

Customer Comments: 42" w x 30.5" I'm looking for a glass doors with a metal mesh to protect the hamburgers and I probably ventilation holes at the bottom

Our Comments: Not sure about the hamburgers, but I do have some doors that can be made to fit your fireplace. Each of these includes a damper at the bottom that can be adjusted to allow air into the fireplace. This is particularly important if you have ceramic glass and are burning fires with the doors closed. I included a couple less expensive free standing fireplace screens in case the glass doors our beyond the budget.

Tempered vs Ceramic Glass: Tempered glass can handle sustained temperatures around 450F without shattering and should be at least 8" from the flames. This is sufficient for closing the doors as the fire starts to die out to keep the heat in the home. Ceramic glass can handle sustained temperatures around 1450F with direct flame contact. If you want the ability to burn continuous fires with the doors closed, you need ceramic glass. You can close the tempered glass doors when the fire starts to die out to keep the warm air in during the night.

These doors are most commonly ordered with ceramic glass for burning fires with the doors closed.

Template Instructions:

1. Tape a piece of heavy plastic sheeting to the fireplace.
2. Make sure the bottom edge is perfectly straight and even with the hearth.
3. Make sure it is taped tightly enough to remove any wrinkles.
4. Trace the shape of the stones and mortar around the opening with a fine tip marker.
5. If you make a mistake, make a note and point to the correct part of the line that is to be used.
6. Mark the template as shown with: Fireplace Treatments, Customer: (Your Name), PO# (To Be Provided), Outside Looking In.
7. Email me a picture of the template and leave it in place so I can see how it was made and approve it.
8. Once I approve it, you can take it down, cut off the tape and mail it to the address that I will provide.
