Custom Fireplace Glass Doors - Project #20437

Customer Comments: Hello Greg! I work for an interior design firm in Minneapolis. We have a client in Bentonville, Arkansas that has quite a substantial fireplace in their parlor we are looking to find a screen for. I am wondering if it is possible to mix a couple styles seen on your website. I have attached my inspiration as well as the two images taken from your website indicating shape and design.

The opening is 46" wide x 34 3/4" high BUT the top of the opening is 42" from the floor because the floor of the fireplace is elevated from the actual floor. We are looking to get this project professionally photographed at the end of April-so a separate question is if you thinking timing could work?

Looking forward to hearing back from you.

Our Comments: We can certainly meet your needs and target date. Here are some examples of screens that can be made to fit this traditional fireplace while I await your inspiration photos. In cases like this where there is a rug or carpeted area around the fireplace, you may want to consider screen doors that are attached to the fireplace so you don't have set a dirty screen on the rug every time you tend the fire.

Glass Door Mesh Options

If you are planning on burning anything in your fireplace, you need to have mesh behind the glass so you can burn a fire with the doors open. You can chooe between gate mesh backup doors and sliding mesh curtains. Functionally, gate mesh performs the best as the wire has smaller holes that sparks cannot get through. Aesthetically, mesh curtains may be preferred because they do not have a vertical center frame that obstructs the view of the fire. When you are not using the fire or you want a complete unobstructed view, they do not stick out like gate mesh doors when they are opened.

We are showing these options on a flat steel bifold door with a satin brass overlay and gray glass.
