Club Fender and Accessory Options for Rhode Island Firelace Project - Project #20440

Our Comments: Using the information you have provided, I was able to create the mockups below to help illustrate the look as best I could. Each option has a slight variation in the andirons and the way the mesh curtains are done. All of the brass will be polished and unlacquered.

The Bench Fender is shown with the inside dimenension of the base wrapping around the hearth. We would recommend leaving a 1/4" gap between the base and the hearth to ensure a good fit. The bench is typically 8" wide and overhangs the base 2" in front and 3" in back. The base is 3" wide.

Fireplace Opening: 47 1/2" W x 37" H
Hearth: 77" W x 3/4" H x 20" D
Overall Bench Size: 81" W x 22 1/4" D x 20" H

Glass Door Mesh Options

If you are planning on burning anything in your fireplace, you need to have mesh behind the glass so you can burn a fire with the doors open. You can chooe between gate mesh backup doors and sliding mesh curtains. Functionally, gate mesh performs the best as the wire has smaller holes that sparks cannot get through. Aesthetically, mesh curtains may be preferred because they do not have a vertical center frame that obstructs the view of the fire. When you are not using the fire or you want a complete unobstructed view, they do not stick out like gate mesh doors when they are opened.

We are showing these options on a flat steel bifold door with a satin brass overlay and gray glass.
