Customer Comments: Good morning we are looking for three fireplace screens, but will start with the first two. They are oversized and will have to be duplicates for a see-through fireplace. We would like to have them secured to the cinderblock before our Mason puts the stone on the fireplace. The theme of our house is medieval Gothic so something simple but rustic is what we were looking for. I love the look of the sample photo that I attached but do not want Glass (see example below). We are looking for mesh and metal. The first photo is the fireplace in the great room. The second photo is where it is in the kitchen. It will have the kitchen table in front of it.
Our Comments: Here are examples of steel and wrought iron doors in a variety of price ranges that can be made to fit your fireplace. I have included some andirons and tools that I have available at half price I think you will find perfect for your medieval theme.

These rare discontinued items were acquired from Stone Manufacturing by Fireplace Treatments when they closed down their Gardena manufacturing facility. They are being sold at half price while supplies last. Most of these items have only 1 or 2 left, so you can be one of the last people in the USA to own one of these rare gems. If you are planning on burning anything in your fireplace, you need gate mesh backup doors or mesh curtains behind the glass so you can burn a fire with the doors open. Functionally, gate mesh performs the best as the wire has smaller holes that sparks cannot get through. Aesthetically, mesh curtains may be preferred because they do not have a vertical center frame that obstructs the view of the fire. When you are not using the fire or you want a complete unobstructed view, they do not stick out like gate mesh doors when they are opened.
We are showing these options on a flat steel bifold door with a satin brass overlay and gray glass.
Tempered vs Ceramic Glass: Tempered glass can handle sustained temperatures up to about 450F without breaking from heat and should be at least 8" from the flames. Ceramic glass can handle sustained temperatures up to about 1450F and be in direct contact with the flames. If you wish to burn fires with the doors closed, I highly recommend upgrading to ceramic glass. Ceramic glass is $800-$2000 more than tempered glass depending on the manufacturer.
Not all doors are available with all of these glass options.
